Our support groups at the Erie Cancer Wellness Center encourage conversation and understanding for those who are newly diagnosed or in treatment, those who have completed treatment and those supporting loved ones along their cancer journey.
About Our Program
Cancer Support
Why join a support group? Receiving a cancer diagnosis can be overwhelming and isolating. Friends and family often don’t know what to say or do. When you join one of our support groups, you’ll find yourself among others that are on the same journey. They’ve heard the dreaded words “you have cancer” or “your family member has cancer”. They understand. Whether you choose to just listen, share freely, or ask questions, being among others is comforting. You find your community. Our groups are a safe and confidential place to say things that others may not understand or fear hearing. We offer cancer specific support groups as well as general ones. A myriad of outside groups (L&L Society; Linked by Pink; Prostate Cancer; Ostomy) use our center for their meetings and we offer nine of our own led by therapists. You are welcome here and together, we are stronger.
